Black screen with a mouse cursor with Plasma Mobile Beta 16

Is anyone else actually running Beta 16 on a PinePhone Pro?

I can’t get it to work. After flashing it boots up okay, but then I get just a black screen with a mouse cursor (that I can move with the touchscreen) but nothing else happens.

Beta 15 and earlier work, but won’t install updates due to dependency issues.

This issue seems fixed in the latest dev nightly build, but the setup wizard doesn’t run.
Only a blank login screen is shown on first boot.
Forcing a restart adds a “KDE” user but the password is unknown, and I cannot login.
