I just found this post https://forum.manjaro.org/t/issues-after-user-switching-from-gui-eg-logout-login/31359 and I am trying the fix proposed.
Sometimes to time, we don’t see what is just below our nose. 
I will report whether it solves my issue; hopefully, it does!
