Hi folks, I’m having some trouble with hybrid-sleep, and wondered if anyone here could help.
All other functions of my laptop are working just great, including both standard sleep and standard hibernate, but I can’t make hybrid-sleep work. It enters the mode just fine, but upon trying to boot the laptop back up again, it simply lands on a black screen with fans running very rapidly. No ttys work - it’s not just a process appearing over the top of X. I’m using a Dell Inspiron 5401 laptop.

Hi,
I’m having a problem whenever I put my laptop to hibernate or suspend. When powering up the laptop again, I see the manufacturer logo for a few seconds and then nothing, black screen.
I am able to switch to a tty and I tried to run startx but it gives me the following error:

Sometimes when resuming from suspend, everything starts to come on (mouse lights up) and then it looks like USB dies (mouse light goes out). No video. I’m not able to SSH in.
Failed attempt to resume was Aug 26 06:43.

I think that these are two problems but because they co-exist, it’s really hard for me to debug what’s going on. When I suspend, I get just black screen and I need a hard reset.
The kernel log shows that at the same second resume is done after suspend and the amdgpu driver crashes:
