Hi @Mirdarthos, thank you once more.
If it does not work, would I have broken something even more?
Hi @Mirdarthos, thank you once more.
If it does not work, would I have broken something even more?
Possibly, but completely inadvertently I assure you!
It’s also not irrecoverable, but I don’t think I’d be able to help then, sadly
I have been reading a bit and it says that I should not remove a kernel that I’m currently running. Also, shouldn’t I install another kernel first before removing?
You are welcome to do it that way, but with chroot
you aren’t actually running the installed kernel. You’re running the live ISO’s kernel.
Okay I’m sorry, I still don’t understand much about the topic.
When attempting to uninstall now it shows error “You can’t remove your current kernel”.
OK, I don’t understand that, either. Are you sure you’re using the chroot environment to do it? Because, it doesn’t really sound that way to me.
Well, I don’t know if it is mounted to the correct partition, since it is an automated command right?
I updated the result of manjaro-chroot -a command in my OP. It is mounting sdb1, I hope that’s correct.
Also in the terminal it shows manjaro in red as mounted.
It is, indeed, automated, and I think the red is correct, as root
can, indeed, be dangerous.
Try installing another kernel in the chroot
environment followed by rebooting with the live ISO, returning to the chroot
environment and then trying to remove the old one.
If that doesn’t work, well, then I’m officially out of ideas.
I installed a new kernel, now rebooting
sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux54

Booting from the new kernel still shows a black screen.
I removed nvidia drivers and reinstalled them via 0300 but still black screen.
I tried disabling nouveau,
nouveau.modeset=0
and the terminal got stuck. It also shows some errors, I don’t know of this is relevant.
*sorry for the screenshot, only now I checked out the rules about those.
Did you do so in the chroot environment, obtained with manjaro-chroot -a
?
Because, I think it’s way above my head, if so.
And the very sad part is that I don’t know if there’s anyone to ask, so I’m going to try my luck and ask @Fabby if he can help?
No, I did so from tty.
prime-run glxinfo
Returns, error: unable to open display
What is the output of
sudo mhwd -li
from the TTY?
video-modesetting true
video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime false
video-linux true
I tried first only with free driver and it still showed black screen.
OK, I’m sorry, but I’m totally out of my depth here.
I have absolutely no idea where to go from here.
You have been of great support, thank you!
It is also beyond my understanding, I have tried everything I knew so far (not that it’s much xd). Hopefully someone else knows what’s happening.
You’re very welcome! Just wish I could have been of more help.

rebooting
First reboot I couldn’t access TTY.
After 2nd attempt
journalctl -b0
I’m typing some results from pictures I took since I don’t know how to retrieve last journal that I had during normal boot from USB iso chroot

pacman -mirrors -c all
pacman -Syy ( check internet )
mhwd-kernel i linux419
mhwd-kernel i linux510
