Battery drains too fast

After a new update around a week ago, first I couldn’t shut down my laptop with the GUI button (I already fixed that) and second, battery started draining reaaallyy fast, and the fan is constantly working. Temperature of the CPU is above normal although not critical, around 60 degrees without anything serious opened and without a charger. I assume it just consumes a lot of energy even though CPU use is almost 0

In the kde infocenter (normally in the system category of the starter menu) check the energy tool. There you can see the actual power consumption. On my notebook it is almost ever slightly below 10W under normal conditions (no video encoding or stuff like that).

Sorry for a late response, just checked it and it’s like 26.84W, it’s terrible. Can I see somehow for what does it actually consume so much?

You can use envycontrol for your laptop.

pamac install envycontrol

and change gpu into integrated mode.

sudo envycontrol -s integrated

this might help your battery draining issue.

One way would be:

pamac install powertop
sudo powertop
sudo powertop --html

Open the powertop.html file for a better overview.

thank chu it works!!!
