Hello,
Bit of a novice question. I can’t track down an explainer in docs.
pamac checkupdates -a
seems to consistently return message that an AUR package is “out of date.”
But it doesn’t clear from pamac upgrade -a
, and running pamac build
doesn’t seem to address either.
Is this Out of Date relative to my system? Or perhaps out of date relative to some ecosystem benchmark for that package? (more of an FYI)?
Thanks for any clarification.
Whenever possible, please copy and paste text instead of using pictures.

You need to wait until the maintainer for AUR (en) - genymotion updates the PKGBUILD to the new version (3.9), which was released last month:
Genymotion Desktop 3.9.0 is out with tons of features and fixes: device link, motion sensors, gamepad, high dpi support and so on.

OK great, so it’s more an informational alert that the maintainer’s package is behind the source repo. Makes sense.
And yes, realizing the checkupdates
output (indicating a package actually can be updated) shows you the current ver
→ available ver
. That helps distinguish.
Many thanks.
