Audio Volume keeps resetting to 100%

Every time I open any app it resets said app volume to 100%, every time any of my audio/video players switch to next file in playlist their volume also goes to 100%

How do I fix this?

have you tried to install and use ‘pavucontrol’ ?

It says it’s for PulseAudio and I’m using pipewire, is this a problem or should I try anyway?

you can try it anyway. doesn’t matter if pulse or pipe

Does not help, audio volume keeps resetting

I replaced PulseAudio with Pipewire a few weeks ago to see if it solved my audio glitch issue (which it mostly did with some tweaking), and I could reproduce this behavior on my end by running paplay --volume and pw-play --volume on a random sound file. It appears that something in Pipewire is ignoring the command’s initial volume request, so it would play at 100% volume every single time I run either command.

Note that with the manjaro-pulse metapackage installed, the “pa” commands are still present in the system to maintain compatibility with existing apps and scripts that use them.
