Audio problem with my internal sound card

Hi, i have a problem with my sound card from my laptop, it can’t play any sound just a continuous weird one, I’ll put the inxi -Fazy result. I’m sure my audio card is a Realtek but it shows Intel Sunrise point, the device 2 is just an external USB audio device, no problem with it.

Thank any one who can help me. (I’m kinda new on Linux and even more on Manjaro so any help would be appreciated)

Welcome to Manjaro forum

There have been a lot of similar reports in the last few days about audio problems after latest stable branch updates. The issue affects ALSA audio for Intel Skylake (6th gen) to TigerLake (11th gen) systems with LTS kernels v5.10 and v5.15

A lot of users have confirmed that the best, simple solution for this is to install kernel v6.0 using either Manjaro Settings Manager GUI tool, or copy/paste this to terminal

sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux60

The audio device name shown in inxi is decoded from the VendorID:productID code

chip-ID: 8086:9d71

There is also a subvendor code to identify the specific device fitted by Asus

But to find out which Realtek device is fitted check in ALSA

amixer -D sysdefault info

Response should show that your system has Realtek ALC294
Information about the drivers and sound servers is usually more significant than the device name for troubleshooting purposes

The model name of laptop/motherboard is useful for searching online data from similar systems
HW probe of ASUSTek X542URR #fe6fb20830: amixer
But online search for “Intel Sunrise Point-LP HD Audio” will find all the Coffee Lake audio devices
Search results for 'Sunrise Point-LP HD'
