Asus X1504za Trackpad Sluggish and Freezing

I had an issue with the trackpad (ASUP1301:00 093A:2009 Touchpad) on my Asus X1504za laptop.

The problem was that the mouse would do random ghost clicks, and when I moved the cursor it would first start by delaying the motion, then it would just stop moving entirely. Putting it to sleep temporarily resolved the issue, as did full shutdowns.

I’ve seen the issue on other forums, also on this thread:

The solution that worked for me was putting another SSD in the computer (so I still had my Manjaro installation), did the cloud recovery through the bios:

Then when Windows was installed, I downloaded the firmware for the trackpad from the Asus Support Page (2024/06/20):
https://www.asus.com/supportonly/x1504za/helpdesk_bios/

After that was complete, I shut down my laptop, replaced the Windows SSD with my Manjaro SSD, and everything worked normally. I did this seven months ago, and haven’t had an issue with the trackpad since.

Putting this out there for anyone else who has had this issue.
