[ARM Unstable Update] 2023-05-19 - A lot of shizzle

Arch Linux ARM managed to sync with Arch again. Therefore we have a lot of new packages

typo, 2023-06-19.
btw, you forget update hyprland, again.

I see easyeffects is in the community and extra repos in unstable. Have not checked the others.

[ray@jellyfin ~]$ pacman -Ss easyeffects
extra/easyeffects 7.0.5-1
    Audio Effects for Pipewire applications
community/easyeffects 7.0.4-1
    Audio Effects for Pipewire applications

community is empty. I removed the DB files again and created a blank one on the server directly. Packages

updating my odroid’s (C2, N2, N2+) worked without any problems. Thanks very much

Raspberry Pi4 updated but still have these warnings:

warning: gcr-4: local (4.1.0-1) is newer than extra (3.92.0-1)
warning: pulseaudio-alsa: local (1:1.2.7.1-2) is newer than extra (2-5)

BTW, you should warn everyone that openblas require manual intervention as Archlinux said:
https://archlinux.org/news/openblas-0323-2-update-requires-manual-intervention/

Beelink GT King Pro Manjaro-Arm-KDE-linux-aml-6.1.33-1 updated successfully (~250+ packages – mainly KDE Gear-23.04.2 and KDE-Framework-5.107)

Bottomline cannot complete System Upgrade or intall individual packages.

Appreciate guidance on how to resolve these issues.

Hi,

Has anyone on Unstable Branch run “sudo pacam -Syu” and successfully completed the system upgrade without issue?

Facing issue with Unstable Branch now which basically report all the packages that was supposed to be upgraded as “invalid or corrupted”.

Wanted to know whether it is just unique in my case.

[ray@jellyfin Desktop]$ pacman -Ss ttf-liberation | grep installed
extra/ttf-liberation 2.1.5-1 [installed]

The only issue I have is geoclue1 trying to replace geoclue which was advised to say No in the previous unstable thread.

[ray@jellyfin Desktop]$ sudo pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
 core is up to date
 extra is up to date
 community is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
:: Replace geoclue with extra/geoclue1? [Y/n] n
 there is nothing to do

Thanks for the info.

So it looks like either USB Flash had bad blocks or the flashing of the Manjaro-Arm-Gnome image had issues.

Used e2fsck (read only) to check for bad blocks but so far it reports NO Bad Blocks that I can tell. Could the USB Flash still have bad blocks?

If there would be issues our daily CI builds would have failed …

Some package still need a python update

pacman -Qoq /usr/lib/python3.10/
python-wxpython

@philm
Can you look into this ?
I think after update to repo’s there is some breakage ?

Hi @spikerguy, @philm, @Darksky,

Thanks for responding and assistance.

Updates (Reflash 1): After numerous unsuccessful or failed attempts to instatll individual packages and system upgrades (sudo pacman -Syu) on the Reflashed Manjaro-ARM-gnome-gtking-pro-20230619.img.xz, I concluded that the reflashed image might be somehow corrupted. The Manjaro-ARM-gnome-gtking-pro-20230619.img.xz image was flashed using “rpi-imager” arm64 version which works reliably so far.

Reflash2: Reflash Manjaro-ARM-gnome-gtking-pro-20230619.img.xz on the same USB64GB Flash Drive this time with Balena Etcher Electron Arm64 version (balena-etcher-electron_1.7.9+5945ab1f_arm64.deb) yesterday. This round was able to manually install or upgrade to “mesa-23.1.2-1” and “linux-aml-6.1.35-1” but was NOT able to install chromium or firefox (URL error… 404 when attempting to ttf-liberation and mailcap) from this mirror: https://mirror.seahost.de/manjaro/arm-unstable/extra/aarch64/.

Was able to install mesa, linux-aml,-6.1.35-1 chromium and firefox earlier on Manjaro-Arm-KDE-6.1.33-1 as indicated as per my earlier post on this same https://mirror.seahost.de/manjaro/arm-unstable/extra/aarch64/ mirror repo.

Fast forward: Today, Refresh mirrors and System Upgrade was successful and was able to install chromium and firefox.

I presume the Reflash1 image had issues where all the packages downloaded to “/var/cache/pacman/pkg/” turn out to be “invaldi or corrupted”.

Reflash2 not being able to install chromium and firefox due to “ttf-liberation and mailcap” url errors… 404 yesterday, what casuses it?

Bottomline, as of now, Reflash2: Manjaro-Arm-Gnome-linux-aml-6.1.35-1 is up to date.

Thank you.

Hi @spikerguy,

Is there a way to enable “sound” to be available from the Analog Headphone outlet on GT King Pro? At the moment NO Sound from the Analog Headphone outlet.

Is there a way to enable it?

The sound quality of the Analog Headphone outlet is very good on GT King Pro. It will be a pity NOT able to use it on Linux.

That package python-wxpython is from ALARM. Seems they missed it.
Also it doesn’t build yet: build-package (#12705) · Jobs · manjaro-arm / packages / temp / python-wxpython · GitLab

plasma packages did not update completely, only kwin & some?

Hi @philm,

Tried to reinstall “linux-aml and linux-aml-headers”, same errors.

Edit: Reboot and luckily it can reboot successfully eventhough the “/boot/initramfs-linux.img” many not be complete (error: command failed to execute correctly).

Not sure whether the ‘/boot/initramfs-linux.img’ is actually created completely or not. Or stability issue.
