Application permissions panel not available in plasma system settings (grayed out)

Hi,

I have an issue with the system settings in plasma where the application permissions panel is grayed out.

This is a big problem because it makes it impossible to revoke permissions once they have been granted, unless there is another mechanism to do so. Clearly, it has security implications.

The KDE devs remark that (quoting from a bug report, see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=490666)

The permissions are stored in System Settings > Application Permissions.

If you're using Plasma 6.5 and you don't see that page, or it doesn't work,
then there's some kind of local misconfiguration on your system or a
distro-specific problem.

Because I am on “testing” I am definitely on plasma 6.5, so that should work. I do not think it comes from my local configuration, so I suspect the “distro-specific” problem might be at stake. Is this the case? Is it arch-derived?

Maybe it is only available when apparmor is installed and active?
Isn’t this for managing permissions of snaps and flatpaks?

I don’t have either one of the two installed and that setting is greyed out as well.
If I recall correctly, apparmor was active by default, but I disabled it because I don’t need it.

Weirdly, I found that if I used the search in the system settings then Application Permissions was greyed out, but if I scrolled down to Security & Privacy and clicked on Application Permissions it worked. It initially only showed the Legacy X11 App Support panel. When I installed flatpak-kcm it showed options for all apps (not just flatpak ones). Not actually tried altering any permissions yet…

Thanks, that works! The name is misleading, but it is flatpak-kcm what’s needed!
