Everything seems to be working as it should but it doesn’t feel good. Thoughts?

Don’t fix something that’s not broken

iwlwifi seems to be setting its region (country code?). Dont know why.

Another big chunk is usb … do you have any peripherals plugged in via usb?
A quick check might be unplugging them to find any clue.

(neither of these worries me terribly)

Did that and the errors concerning usb disappeared.

This one had me thinking:

[ 2.600418] mtd: partition "BIOS" extends beyond the end of device "0000:00:1f.5" -- size truncated to 0x400000

But if you’re not worried neither should I.

Oh I hadnt noticed that one.
It does tend to make me think its a (possible) corrupted BIOS.
Though I also see examples of some intel/kernel stuff creating it…

Whats the device?

lspci | grep "0000:00:1f.5"

lspci | grep “0000:00:1f.5”

Gives me no output.

chomsky@manjaro ~ $ lspci

I guess it’s the serial bus controller?

Hm. Makes sense.

Still not entirely sure if it is a minor issue from kernel (maybe try others?) or an actual issue with BIOS (maybe try reflashing/updating) or if its cosmetic, etc.

Tried linux58 and 59 and both give me that error. Guess I’ll try updating the BIOS which means plugging in the HDD where I saved windows :see_no_evil:

EDIT
The windows HDD is dead, I’ll have to do it another time.

Updated the BIOS using a Hiren’s bootCD PE USB but the error persists
