Fixed by replacing the xdg-desktop-portal-gnome package with the one that corresponds to the environment you are using. In my case I use Cinnamon, so I installed xdg-desktop-portal-gtk.

The effect is immediate. No need to reboot.

So both you and the previous poster had the same problem which has already been answered both here and at the very top of release announcements, and is likely unrelated to OP.

The package in question (xdg-desktop-portal-gnome) had already been mentioned in this very thread. If you search that term you get a lot of results.

OP is a known internet slang for “Original Poster”

You are hijacking this thread because the problem of the OP doesn’t seem to be the one that you solved removing that package. We can be wrong, but there were slightly different symptons that can point to a different direction.
On the other hand, the data you provided was already from the very beginning in the update announcement

There are some rules in this forum (and usually in whatever forum you participate). So don’t complain if you break some rule and someone warn you about that.
