is USB detection successful on X96S ? which DTB and kernel are you using for USB detection? I am not able to operate it because USB keyboard and mouse is not working.
Tested different Android firmware to make it wok.

Have tested different Android firmware’s.
The only one that has working USB: aml_upgrade_packages_x96s_2G.img
Needed to use micro-usb port to update true USB BURNING TOOL v2.2 .
I used this on X96s 2G /16G model.
Test at your own risk!!
- Install USB burning tool (windows)
- Load firmware inn tool
- Press start inn tool
- Hold inn button beside IR port , a small hole ( I use iphone sim card tool)
Press and hold button when connecting micro-usb to X96s from pc.
- Android firmware starts and take about 4-5 min to flash.
- Unplug micro-usb when flashing finished.
- Start Android 1 time.
- Flash Manjaro-ARM-xfce-am6-plus-22.04.img.xz to SDcard (balenaEtcher)
- Edit uEnv.ini BOOT_MNJRO : dtb_name=/dtbs/amlogic/ meson-g12a-radxa-zero.dtb
- Insert sdcard X96s, press and hold button first time power on X96s to boot Manjaro.

I use a USB-hub having LAN connected to USB3 port.
Wifi not working , makes LAN unstable.

It needs to be under uboot

Thank you for updating. I tried many times to download that firmware but it was failing with parse error. I will try this new firmware today. My X96S is 4G/32G , I hope it should work.
After reboot you still have Android that means it never formatted the emmc.
If you cannot answer my points step by step then we’re just going in circles.
