AMD GPU not working with Manjaro

I was trying to install manjaro for a while until i found out the root of my issue was my GPU, because when i took it out and used the iGPU on my CPU it works fine, but as soon as i put it back in my installation doesn’t boot, it works fine on windows. Do i just need to update my drivers or something for it to work?

CPU: Ryzen 5 3400g
GPU: Radeon rx 570
Kernel 5.9
Post install

You haven’t really given us any info to work off of.

What GPU? What CPU? What Kernel? Is this during the Manjaro LiveISO? Is this post install? Did it work before? Etc etc.

Sorry.

GPU: Radeon rx 570
CPU: Ryzen 5 3400g
Kernel 5.9
Post install, but it always crashed when trying to boot live ISO, until i removed it

I was recently trying to install Manjaro on my pc using the live USB media, but it had always crashed and would go black after a while
I found that the root issue was my GPU (Radeon Rx 570), when i removed the card and used the iGPU on my CPU (Ryzen 5 3400G) everything worked fine. But I don’t want to have to remove my GPU just to run it on my system.
what should i do?

I can provide more details if needed

CPU: Ryzen 5 3400G
GPU :Radeon Rx 570
Kernel 5.9 (but i have tried lower kernel’s such as 5.4)
Pre and post install

You can try disabling the iGPU from the BIOS, to be certain only the dGPU is being used.

there is no option for that when the dGPU is plugged in, i can change where the output comes from (card or onboard) and the default is set to the card and i have tried the onboard output but it still does not show anything on boot

I think its a driver issue but I don’t know how I would go about fixing it

Hi, to get more input on your problem from users they would probably like to see the output of these commands:
$ inxi -Fazy
$ mhwd --listinstalled
Post the output in this format for easy reading
```
paste console output here
```

Ok, ill try this when i get a chance

For the inxi -Fazy and mhwd --listinstalled:

Have you tried Kernel 5.10 yet? 5.9 is EOL.

Is Manjaro installed by now? Or you still using a LiveISO?

Does this happen regardless of the LiveISO you used? Have you tried the others?

It’s strange because RX 570 should work out of the box. The GPU drivers are built into the kernel itself.

Manjaro has been installed but it only works with my iGPU not my main rx 570
i have not tried using 5.10

the liveISO always crashed no matter what i used and even on other distros such as ubuntu or mint, even solus

OK so i tried kernel 5.10 and its the same result only now it just shows “@^” in the corner of the screen and freezes

I am just going to come to the conclusion that my GPU is defective, as it only works on windows but not any other linux distro (i have tried several)
