All Widgets and Wallpaper changed suddenly

After update and rebooting all of my widgets, including Notes which contained important content is removed. Also the wallpaper is changed which is strange really!
I read the Stable Update forum but there wasn’t any such warning or bug.

I know it’s very unlikely to recover my Notes :frowning_face: But I just want to know why this problem happened and how can I prevent it? Can anyone guide me?

I updated my system yesterday by:

$ sudo pacman -Syu

And last night shut down system using:

$ sudo shutdown -h now

And today I logged in normally but faced with this strange situation.

I use Manjaro(KDE) with below information:

$ uname -a
Linux milad-pc 5.4.169-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Dec 29 18:08:59 UTC 2021 x86_64 GNU/Linux

EDIT
The recent logs of pacman from /var/log/pacman.log:

Could possibly be this bug.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427861

Workaround is to keep a copy of ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc and then restore it once the issue occurs but not sure if notes can also be recovered

Wow, Yes! It’s exactly this bug :grinning:(Even the random chosen wallpaper after problem is the same too :expressionless:)
I’m happy at least I’m not the only one who has this bug :sweat_smile:.

I read the link, some people says restoring plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc restores all the lost information even Widgets (including Note) and some other says there is no effect. It seems I should give it a shot.

I’ll use your suggested workaround but I hope they fix it as soon as possible :worried:.
Thank you :pray:
