After the update, my desktop background (a solid color) applied only to workspace 1 even though, in Desktop > Background (tab), “Apply to all workspaces” was ticked.
I unticked and reticked the item, and now the chosen solid color applies to other workspaces.
Did you reboot/re-login after the update? Many times, updated packages tend to need this inconvenient formality in order to complete.
Rebooting had not helped. (But painless enough to retick one thing.)
