You need to run install-grub after the grub package updates. The parameters for install-grub are different depending if you use bios or efi. See GRUB/Restore the GRUB Bootloader - Manjaro
You don’t need to follow all the instructions there. Just the parts under “BIOS system” or “EFI system” in the “Reinstall Grub” section.
