After last update can't unlock screen, locked by inactivity

After last Manjaro update, unable to unlock screen, after it has been locked by inactivity. Screen doesn’t contain any login field and button, so I have to switch to shell and reboot.

Hi @BarbosSergos,

I use Plasma myself and I don’t have a problem like that. Neither when locking manually, nor when the automatic lock kicks in,

So I suspect it’s either:

  1. You screen lock theme;
  2. some other customization.

Try clearing your cache, firstly:

rm -r ~/.cache/*

…and seeing if it helps. If it doesn’t check if the same symptoms present themselves when trying with a new uncustomised user.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Mirdarthos ,
If I lock it by myself, then everything seems OK.
On laptop it also looks fine after update, problem only on PC.
Let me try to clear ~/.cache and check it again.

One problem you do have, or will have sooner or later is related to the above.

There’s no Swap File or Swap partition.

@Mirdarthos
Unfortunatelly didn’t help, but I observed strange behavior…
Afrer screen was locked, I tried to unlock it and at first saw same empty screen.
After several seconds screen locked again, I moved mouse and screen shown transparent login field, button and another items.
I tried to type password, login field didn’t show any filling, but after several second screen was unlocked.
Will try to upload photos of screen, as was unable to make screenshots.

Should mention that I didn’t restart after cache was cleared.

Thank you for point it, added. I installed Manjaro 3 or 4 years ago and looks like forget to set it and all that time work without swap.

Wow!..

A post was split to a new topic: Screen won’t unlock after aurto lock since last update
