My gnome desktop animation is not working.
Can someone help with this problem? Thank you.
Without more info along with it being Gnome, I can only speculate. But my suspicion is that whatever provides this animation isn’t compatible with the newer version of Gnome. In which case, you’d have to upgrade it if there is one or you’d have to find something else…
Then… should I need to visit the Gnome site
and download the new version of Gnome…?
The new version of the extension proving said animation. But I use KDE, so I won’t be able to find out if there is one.
I’m not even sure that it is an extension that you are talking about.
@Mirdarthos seems to assume that
What do you mean by “desktop animation”?
Are you referring to the change in appearance that you get when you are clicking top left or push the “Windows” key?
Can you be more precise?
no
That’s not how this distro (Manjaro) works - it has got a package manager and that should be the only means you use to install software.
Me neither. I presumed whatever animation is faulty was provided by an extension because it suddenly stopped working, and that sound like an incompatible extension after an upgrade.
Although I did state in my original reply:
GUI animation. This is what I said.
As you know, animation effect (GUI effect) is appear
when you click “Windows” key or open the programs
(gently open and gently close)
But, this effect is not working after I do software update.
Thanks for clarifying.
So: it is not an extension that might not be working anymore, but the very core functionality of the GUI is broken.
I have however no idea what to suggest to approach this issue.
You might start with providing system information and logs.
How to get that in Manjaro Linux…?
Someone else might come in, having prepared a script containing all that information.
It is all in the forum - look for it, read a bit the introductory message you got (I remember having received one when I joined).
Nono, I think I found a problem.
It looks like the Manjaro package is not updated at all now.
I think I need to wait more. Thank you.
I do not understand what you meant to say with that.
Just waiting will make nothing better.
But: you marked the thread as solved, so …
(but I don’t think my post should be “the solution”)
