Littlw hard to do it in Nvidia X server settings & see the result as you go, I was wondering if there is a way to do it with out taking up the whole screen with X settings?
It’s a little hard to answer your question when you seem to switch between MATE and KDE more often then one normally changes their pants.

I only changed to KDE 1 time. I talked about KDE long before the switch.
Honestly Edward, you are producing enormous amount of low quality topics and questions very fast (and your profile still says mate, btw.). It is not a sin to be a noob, but to post a topic before googling for the answer first or reading the documentation is not nice, to say it politely.
