16:10 WUXGA OLED display 1900 x 1200 resolution 16:10 aspect Intel Arc GPU

Hello. Am thinking about purchasing an ASUS Vivobook S16 (S3607) when/if it becomes available and I would like feedback about how the display and graphics parameters will be accommodated in Manjaro Linux. Can Manjaro utilize the 16:10 WUXGA OLED display 1900 x 1200 resolution 16:10 aspect Intel Arc GPU? Also, How will Manjaro utilize the Intel Ultra 9 Series 3 processor with up to 50 NPU TOPS and a 70 Wh battery delivering up to 25 hours of use? LOL

Thanks (as always) for your (as always) very woderful and valuable assistance.

I have an integrated Arc and it supports a maximum resolution of 3840x2160, which is as much as my monitor allows. Therefore, I think you will not have a problem with the hardware itself, but the desktop environment is another matter.

Would you mind telling me what you mean by that? Thanks.

I don’t know what @peiner85 means, but I’ve always liked 16 x 10 aspect ratio, better than the current fad for 16 x 9.

In terms of how the desktop will appear you will have more height to play around with, that’s pretty good. I used to use 12 Virtual Desktops, on my old 16 x 10 displays, now I can really only use 9, for the same effect.

Personally, I think you will enjoy the view much more.

Everything will work as before.

In Manjaro 25 Zetar, neither GNOME was able to set all possible resolutions, nor was it possible to select a refresh rate higher than 60Hz in KDE. Only in Xfce did I have access to all possible modes. I don’t know if it’s a matter of Wayland, my monitor, or my graphics card. The monitor is from 2024. In version 26, KDE started to manage all settings correctly, but I don’t know about Gnome.
