Xorg no screens found (EE)

After fresh install LightDM fails to start X. The Xorg log reveals

Fatal server error:
(EE) no screens found(EE)

After I log in as root on console I can restart lightdm fine:

systemctl start lightdm

I have an AMD 4650GE cpu with integrated graphics:

Please advise me on this. Thanks!

As suggested in an other topic adding “amdgpu” in MODULES=() of mkinitcpio.conf did help. Problem looks to be resolved. Thanks!

May you post the complete EE-messages as I faced a similar message but i have nvidia and an additional MODULES-module did not fix my problem. I see also a lot of failed loading graphics modules like nouvume, …

Thanks

I’m afraid. This amdgpu fix won’t help if you have nvidia.

I followed this thread (does not allow links for some reason):

Xorg does not detect amdgpu on boot

Besides the complete error message I got was:

Fatal server error:
(EE) no screens found(EE)
