Again only one screen monitor

Hello,
I opened the following topic last week:

and now again I can see only one screen.
The following commands looks good:

I do not understand why I can still see video-nvidia because I have removed it.

Hi @mgazzin,

If you haven’t changed something, even by accident, it should still be there. I’ve used mine with 2 screens for ±4 years now, and it’s never done anything that I haven’t configured.

If you’re :100: sure you haven’t changed anything, I recommend checking your cables, connectors, etc. because that sounds like hardware.

Hope this helps!

Edit:

Please provide the output of:

xrandr

…should you wish to continue.

I also have use for years without issues.
After I figured out it was not working I have made sudo pacman -Syu this morning.
The following is the output you requested:

But I can’t enable the monitor in display configuration. But why I am getting the following 4th monitor that I don’t have? I only have internal screen and two external Philips monitors.

:man_shrugging:

Something’s funky there…

I have just made a reboot, now looks fine:

but how can I remove the 4th monitor?

Once again.

:man_shrugging:

I’m not sure, but please provide the output of:

xrand --listactivemonitors

mhwd -l or mhwd --list → shows detected (available) configs
mhwd -li or mhwd --listinstalled → shows installed configs
mhwd -la or mhwd --listall → shows all possible configs

I have removed video-nvidia, I am sure. Why it is still there?

Warning: No installed USB configs!

it looks good. the only thing is that additional monitor I do not have.

what is looking good ? is it working or not ?
also post the output of

echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE && glxinfo | grep server

i’m pretty sure your
a) trying wayland that doesn’t work properly
or
b) using the internal i-gpu that doesn’t support all displays

also post the actual output of

inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width

OP uses XFCE, since GUI. See above.

OP uses prime-reverse with nvidia on xorg.

It looks good because video-nvidia is not installed and instead video-hybrid-nvidia-prime is installed.
It works, I can work with my two Philips external monitors but I still have that 4th monitor in the display configuration that does not make any sense.

So, must be then Intel and everything else is connected to nvidia?

I guess the reason is simply this: In modesetting mode and you use prime-reverse and no monitor is connected to intel, it needs at least a dummy monitor to initialize the Intel GPU . Therefore you see this unknown monitor.

From what I can see:

image

DP-1 should be connected to Intel and HDMI-0 should be connected to NVidia.
What is the reason of Monitor-4 ?
