I am using Gnome Manjaro over XRDP (installed from AUR). If I try to edit locale settings (removing or adding) and save, it goes back to the default values. I am not sure if this is because it is RDP or not but I cannot test it locally for now. Do you know the cause of this?
Normally it ask through polkit, to be exactly: pkexec, for privs to remove it.
So Polkit is not installed/running on your system?

I am accessing Gnome over XRDP and ThinLinc. The situation is the same. The sudo privilege dialogue (polkit, I guess) itself is working with all the apps l have tried.
If I right click a directory in Nautilus, and click “Open as Administrator”, it does not open the sudo dialogue, but just opens a new window of Home, with a message dialogue box that says:
Oops! something went wrong, don’t have permission to access the requested location
