Otherwise chroot
would depend on the kernel on disk. An then you would not be able to repair a damaged kernel.
i think mhwd-kernel
uses same way as uname
to determine kernel. But looks into /boot to find installed kernels.
If you want to know the exact kernel installed, you can use
maxi -kv
or
cat /boot/*.kver

5.10.93-1-MANJARO x64
5.15.16-1-MANJARO x64
