X2go and xfce - change desktop background broken

Hi everyone,
since the latest update I am wondering why the correct/defined desktop background in my x2go-session is not shown. By logging in locally (XFCE) the correct background is shown. Setting a background in the x2go-session does not do anything.
Any ideas? Highly appreciated!

There exists a bug in either XFCE or X2Go causing rendering issues with the compositor when using X2Go.

Workaround is to disable compositing:

/usr/bin/xfconf-query -c xfwm4 -p /general/use_compositing -s false

Thank you for the tip, but Compositor is already off.

Overview on X2Go Community Communication

X2Go is mainly organized via IRC or [matrix] chat and via mailing lists. We use IRC/[matrix] in cases where we need quick feedback on specific issues. IRC/[matrix] are also places where you can get community support from. In fact, our IRC/[matrix] channels are bridged, so let’s consider them as a single place.

With the mailing lists, all content is public. The major (long term) discussions happen on the mailing lists. Also the dicussions from the bug tracker are cross-posted to one of the lists (x2go-dev ML). Before you can send to one of the X2Go mailing lists, you have to get a subscription. This is to avoid spam on the mailing lists.

wiki:bugs [X2Go - everywhere@home]

Please use gitlab bug tracker at https://gitlab.x2go.org/ for any new bug reports or for viewing current bugs. Please login to gitlab once with your GitLab.com account. Then you need to request access first via the x2go-user mailing list. See Overview on X2Go Community Communication

Already tried to reach the developers via matrix, unfortunately the channel is dead. Did not try the mailing lists. Hoped, someone experiences the same problem or has an idea.

Have you tried using remmina remote desktop client?

Remmina - Wikipedia

Remmina is a free and open source remote desktop client for POSIX-based computer operating systems. It supports the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), VNC, NX, XDMCP, SPICE, X2Go and SSH protocols and uses FreeRDP as foundation

Remmina - ArchWiki

Using mac as a client, not linux. Remina for Mac is not quite easy to build after a quick search, that does not make a lot of sense for me. But seems to be a cool project.

Maybe will switch to rustdesk, seems to be a good solution for the future.
