so set it to default, reboot and see if this is the reason

It is, I can confirm that. That’s why I moved it from the default (5 min) to 1 minute, and after 1 minute the lock-up happens after the following changes:

Changes:
-Updating dconf.
-Trying Kernel 5.15.

Current State:
For now, I have moved back to the 6.1.12 Kernel and back to Wayland since Xorg did not make any difference. At this point, the issue persists and is related to the screen blanking setting.

@brahma - No, the issue is still occurring. It PERSISTED even after all the changes you suggested. So I reverted everything, and am back in the state I was at the beginning of this post.

To be clear, the issue is STILL occurring and I need to identify the root-cause. The only lead I have is that it is related to the Screen Blank’ing functionality.

@Aragorn - Any ideas or additional people we can tag on this one? Sorry for pinging you directly.

I have no idea. I too have already experienced two kernel crashes on this machine here — and this is not a laptop — since I switched to the 6.1 LTS kernel. I put it down to kernel bugs, because 6.1 is still relatively new, and I never had any problems with 5.4 LTS. :man_shrugging:

@brahma - New user also experiences the same lockup issue. Like I said, this is a completely fresh install I have not modified anything. This is as close to a ‘vanilla’ install as you can get.

While I could disable the feature, I would rather RESOLVE it, because I do use that feature with my other Manjaro / Linux machines.

but i dont know how the pulse could mess xorg up… but switch to pipewire:

sudo pacman -S manjaro-pipewire wireplumber

it may prompt you with pulse dependencies, so remove them first, then run the install command again, reboot and test
