wxpython2.8 build issue

I need wxpython2.8 as a dependency for a program.

I attempted to install wxpython2.8 via
yay -S wxpython2.8.

The build failed.

In file included from src/helpers.cpp:16:
include/wx/wxPython/wxPython_int.h:19:10: fatal error: wx/wx.h: No such file or directory
   19 | #include <wx/wx.h>

    Aborting...

Yes, I have read Wxpython2.8 build problem.

I have installed wxgtk2.8 successfully. It has not ameliorated the situation.

Any help would be appreciated.

I recently build a package depending on wxpython 2.8 - but it is not available.

I had to change the dependency to wxpython 3 and then the build succeeded.

Which one?

Like @linux-aarhus said, it's possible it can be built with python2-wxpython3 or python-wxpython.

The program Trelby required wxpython2.8 as a dependency. I have since installed it via other means (using trelby-git instead of building it from source.)

Regardless, thanks to both for the tip!

Well, there you go. trelby-git uses python2-wxpython3.
