Wine not working for me

Hello I am getting the following error when I run winecfg. I have 6.12 installed and have also tried installing other versions such as wine-stable and wine-staging. Any ideas? Thank you.

002c:fixme:actctx:parse_depend_manifests Could not find dependent assembly L"Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls" (6.0.0.0) wine: could not load kernel32.dll, status c0000135

I highly doubt this is actually relevant to the problem. Can you please share the full output?

that is the full output i get when i try to run winecfg. Would you like the output of something else?

If I install wine-staging I get this error:

002c:fixme:actctx:parse_depend_manifests Could not find dependent assembly L"Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls" (6.0.0.0)
002c:fixme:winediag:LdrInitializeThunk wine-staging 6.12 is a testing version containing experimental patches.

Have you tried starting all over by removing .wine config folder (hidden) in your home directory and removing and reinstalling wine?

Yes, I get the same error.

Seems there is no driver can be loaded for some reason…

Solved by a full upgrade.

Yes, I saw that too, but I have all updates installed.

I assume you have an Intel GPU? Which Kernel are you running?

inxi -Fazy

I have an Nvidia and Intel GPU, right now I am running the Nvidia using the optimus manager. I tried switching it but it made no difference.
