Window decoration theme?

I want one like Plastik, but black. I like the min & max button from Plastik/

Then you’re going to have to look for one, Nick. Do you have any idea how many window decorations are being offered at store.kde.org?

It’s not fair to ask other people to do your work for you.

The odd thing is in Garudo it is black. Can I just look for Wun. Dec. themes at the store?

Garuda uses its own themes. You can try selecting your black color scheme, but the Plastik window decorations are already old — going all the way back to KDE 3.x — and they might not be able to adapt to the color scheme.

So, you can try that first, and if it doesn’t work, you can either look around at store.kde.org, or contact one of the Garuda developers and ask them where they got theirs.

Note that it hasn’t been updated anymore in 10 years, so whether it works or not is still to be seen. :man_shrugging:

Tjanks, thought you would install fron Win. Dec.All I have in colors is install from file.

If it’s available in there, then yes. Type the name into the search box of the ā€œGet Newā€ window for window decorations and see if it shows up. If it doesn’t, then it’s not compatible.

It is not at store.

I’m not surprised, actually. It’s a window decoration for KDE 3 and it hasn’t been maintained anymore in ten years.

So, your best chance appears to be to contact one of the developers at Garuda and ask them where you can get their black Plastik window decoration. :man_shrugging:

Not specifically what you’re looking for, but I’ve found the following dark themes that are compatible with Plasma 6.

Perhaps you’ll find something you like:

The concept of ā€˜coloured’ decoration themes seems to me to be a bit too much of a dinosaur - unless you really want it fixed and not responsive to your colour scheme…

Also, with Klassy you can modify the appearance of the buttons.

They have Plastik as one of the presets.

You can set the shape to ā€˜rounded square’.

You can also save your settings as presets, so I can easily switch from this one…

and back again.

I can also over-ride the button colours - as you see, I am in my ā€˜colourful’ phase, and everything blends with the colour-scheme (hence the green tint to the ā€˜active’ window text).
