Does Budgie use the same amount of resources as Xfce?

I just discovered the community editions and I would really love to switch to Budgie but I am wondering if it uses the same amount of RAM and processing power as Xfce. I have a laptop with very little specs so I need something lite to use.

My laptop is a Lenovo Flex 3 with 1.6ghz and 2gb ddr3 ram. All help will really be appreciated! A future thanks!

Hello you can try and find benchmarks on the net comparing several DEs.

Budgie is not the worst if I remember but as Gnome/Gtk based, it’s not as optimized than Xfce or LXDE/LXQT who are dedicated lightweight DEs.
