My wifi keeps dropping so often after the latest update. I’ve tried this solution here Wifi keeps dropping so often! - #3 by cscs and here Wifi drops repeatedly - #2 by cscs but they don’t fix the issue.
Here’s my PC:

driver: r8188eu
Use the 8188eu-dkms
driver instead. You have to have the linux-headers installed for your running kernel first, then install the driver. See here
Taken from the archived forum, originally by @tbg
Install the kernel headers and the rtl8188eus driver from the AUR.
The following command will install the linux-headers automatically for all installed kernels:
sudo pacman -S $(pacman -Qsq "^linux" | grep "^linux[0-9]*[-rt]*$" | awk '{print $1"-headers"}' ORS=' ')
Reboot and then run:
pamac build 8188eu-dkms
or
pamac build 8188eu-dkms-git
After the headers and the driver are installed you may need to create a blacklist for the kernel mod…

Okay I’ve done that, let’s see if it’ll still act up in a day or two. I have several kernels on my PC. If I switch to another kernel do I have to build 8188eu-dkms
for that kernel too ?
If you have the headers for your installed kernels, it builds itself, that is why is called dynamic …

I have built 8818eu-dkms
manually by following this post Can’t install rtl8188eus driver - #2 by bogdancovaciu but, it’s still using driver: r8188eu
instead of driver: r8188eu-dkms
. How do I enable the correct driver ?
inxi -F
still shows this info:

My WiFi still drops from time to time. If I do:
echo 'blacklist 8188eu' | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/8188eu-blacklist.conf
My WiFi doesn’t work. How do I fix it ?

This has also started happening for me since the last update or two. Very annoying! Drops every minute or so.
hillz:
If I do:
Then i don’t think you properly installed the dkms driver. Make sure you have the kernel-headers for your running kernel installed first of all.
