Why do I not have any log files?

I was following Network Chuck’s linux videos on youtube and I went to read my log files, but the only logs present were pacmans. and my syslog daemon says it is dead and not found. and I do not know how to fix it.

Manjaro is using systemd-journald for logging.

So is that why the syslog daemon is not present?
