Why are keyboard layouts RU/US?

I have 2 keyboard layouts - Russian (RU) and English (EN)
In Manjaro XFCE I have indicatiors RU/EN according to languages I switch between.
Why in Manjaro KDE I have 2 layouts RU/US. I am actually switching languages, not countries.

And because Xfce and Plasma is two different desktop environments which handles setups differently.

US English is not the same as UK English, Irish English, Australian English, Canadian English, and so on. Also, the typical US keyboard layout is not the same as a UK keyboard layout either.
