When I click on the Trash icon it opens up VLC with a window with errors. I accidentally clicked a button to not show the errors again. But clicking on Trash still opens up VLC for some reason.

Hello @wildcard

Just change the default application on the context menu.

How? There is no context menu. Btw, I have Dash-To-Dock. This screenshot I’m trying to right click it and no context menu shows up.

Open nautilus, rightclick on a folder and change the application to open folders. Nautlius remembers the last application you open the folder with.

What’s Nautilus?

Nautilus is the default file explorer on gnome.

Ok. I right-click on Trash and there’s nothing to change.

No, that’s not what I mean… Trash is also a folder… please change it on any folder and it should work for every folder.

I’m confused. I have no idea what you’re talking about.

Look… on the sidebar are only shortcuts… folders are on the the right side.

Yeah and there are no Trash folders.

So, Trash on the sidebar is located at /home/$USER/.local/share/Trash. It is a shortcut to a folder. Rightclick on a folder, you see open and then open with another application (or something like that). There you can change the behavior.

Oh ok. Now I understand. Thanks!

maybe it;s a hint :upside_down_face:
