Question: what would I need to do to watch Netflix in 1080p with Vivaldi?
Click the gear icon and choose 1080p (if available) like any other browser.

The reason I ask this is because in my brief research I kept reading Vivaldi could only play 720p.
Is vivaldi-widevine necessary to install?

Only for premium video content support as the description entails. However, if you already have google-chrome installed it’s not necessary as the required files are already installed.
