What Kernel should I Run Lutris on. Because having trouble running any thing

Running 5.8.13-2-MANJARO

this is the kernel Im Running

Can you provide a little more information please? What problems are you having? Are games failing to launch, are they low fps, are they native steam or proton?

The best thing about lutris is if you select the terminal icon while launching youā€™ll get a log of what is happening

and my steam Libreary is also messed up , when i try to launch a game nothing happens

if I would reinstall everything , do i need to install steam ? or Just Installing lutris is enough ?

thank u

Which games and are they native linux or proton? If they are proton are they games that work well on proton? Unfortunately there are some games that just donā€™t work on linux. If they are not native linux check the proton database to see what support they have

Can u just tell me in what order should i install what ?

i want to reinstall steam and lutris

how do i go about that after a clean uninstall ?
can u please tell me ?

thanks

Before anyone can help we need to know what errors you are getting and which games you are trying to play, it could be something as simple as a missing lib. What does the lutris log say when you try and launch a game

Your issues most likely have nothing to do with kernel. Itā€™s possible you have incorrect GPU setting. Do you have hybrid GPUs?

Also, you may miss some crucial packages. We need a lot of info from you to figure out what is wrong and then help you fix it. At the moment we know nothing, so our help will also be none existent.

At least, show us output of those commands (format it properly):

inxi -Fxxx0

mhwd -li

Then open Steam or Lutris through terminal, launch the game. Copy the output and paste here. It will probably show a hint what is wrong.

~ >>> inxi -Fxxx0

No hybrid GPUs here, this makes the situation clearer.

You can launch any program through terminal, so you can open it and just type

steam

or

lutris

and hit enter. Terminal will spew a lot of lines. Try launching a game, if it crashes or results in error, copy all terminalā€™s output and paste it here.

I will be following this topic also, because i had Lutris operational while using ā€œanother distroā€, but am still unable to get it working on Manjaro alsoā€¦
(PS: Steam is working ok for me)

One thing to remember is that you wonā€™t be able to use the ā€œEpic-Gamesā€ launcher, and thus non of the games that you download using thatā€¦

What errors are you getting with lutris? Iā€™ve had no problems with it on manjaro

same, I didnā€™t know there was ā€˜launch from terminalā€™ button in Lutris - that would be super helpful for the issue I am havingā€¦I think. Am I right in understanding that he is using the drivers from AMD and not the free drivers? I had some issues with the drivers from AMD and switched to free ones.

Another question for @Fires, are you using ā€˜steam nativeā€™ or ā€˜steam-Manjaroā€™?
