What is the best Desktop Environment/setup for my laptop?

As soon as I installed Mailspring, Dropbox, OnlyOffice, Deja Dup backup to Google Drive and Vivaldi, it has become impossibly slow. Is anything in that list something I should be looking for that is lighter on resources? What about KDE, or should I look at lighter weight DE like xfce given the below specs? What about RAM, do I need 8GB? It was originally on Windows 10, so at one point it ran ok. I was really expecting performance increase with Manjaro. Help please.

Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.15.7-1-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i3-5005U CPU @ 2.00GHz
Memory: 3,7 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 5500

With that much stuff I think any DE is going to struggle with 4g of ram. Really Vivaldi alone could eat 4g of Ram.

What processes are using most of the ram when you run top or similar?

“The best” is subjective, only you can answer that. Try out different DE’s and see which works for you. Research, learn and experience.
