What happened to gcc8 and gcc9

I saw on the newly created AUR pages for them that Arch removed them from the official repositories, but why?

Probably because nothing depends on them anymore, and they don’t want to maintain a package for it. As far as I remember, gcc8 or gcc9 was a dependency of cuda, but it isn’t now.

Ah, thanks. If I re-enabled Manjaro Hello on startup, would it have provided a changelog that mentioned those details?

Linux Noob here—just to be clear then, I can just uninstall them?

If you don’t have any other packages that depend on them, you can uninstall them safely.
