Hi! I’m a retired RN/DOM. I’ve been a Linux fan since about 2000. I’ve tried various distros over the years, like Red Hat, Fedora, openSUZE, Ubuntu, Knoppix— I always seem to end up back on Debian. I decided to try Manjaro. So far, I like it. I’m on a Dell Lattitude E5470. There are a couple of things I find annoying, like the lack of access to usb ports when using the computer for digital ham radio control. I’m sure it’s a permission issue, though, as the only user on the computer so far, I should have admin and root privileges, I would think. Anyway, Hello from Virginia,USA!

Hey! I’m Flygohr, I’m a digital artist by trade but I have a variety of interests, including gamedev, writing, worldbuilding, and apparently tinkering with my machine. I’ve used Ubuntu on and off for more than 10 years but I always relied on Windows. These days I was sick and decided to take my (unpaid, I’m self-employed) time off to wipe the drive and find a distro I could use long term. Took a few quizzes, tested a few options, and ended up with Manjaro. Will see how it goes, I created this account mainly to ask for help, because I’m definitely a noob and there’s a lot of things I don’t understand right out of the box

I’ve been using Mabox for some years now, and it runs really nicely on Manjaro under the Openbox hood.

I’ve been using Manjaro for about a week now. I normally use Linux Mint, but I wanted to try KDE Plasma, and Manjaro was recommended to me. I like learning, so this should be fun. I started by installing Manjaro kde plasma on an external usb c drive enclosure with a 250GB M.2 drive in it. It works great, and I already started making it mine, lol. I’m running it on my Lenovo Thinkpad t495 Ryzen 3500u processor, Vega 8 graphics, 24GB memory, and Wavlink wifi 6e card. Oh, and manjaro works out of the box with the wavlink wifi 6e card. No drivers needed.

Just watch out for the latency. The USB transfer rate isna’t as good as the internal SSD.
Otherwise, other than the potential to accidentally disconnect the USB, it should work fine.

Hi all Manjaro community !
I am French, have lived in Berkeley, California for 8 years but am now back in France.
I have been using linux distribs for more than 20 years now (Mandrake, Mandriva, Red hat, fedora, Ubuntu, Mint, Debian). My last computer crashed a week ago and I decided to start fresh zith a new promising community-based and stable distrib for my new computer. Manjaro caught my attention for its apparent reliability and I was into discovering arch-based distribs. And I went for a kde interface for the first time instead of gnome as I read good stuff about kde plasma.
I have to say I am fond of ready-to-use distribs that I can recommend to new users wanting to go away from Microsoft and Apple.
Although I would want to be highly excited, I am experiencing first days very frustrating with a highly unstable wifi connection. It seems slow and more importantly it disconnects randomly. I will post in the Support section but hope to be able to enjoy Manjaro.

My very first distribution was Mandrake as well. 
But — I am sorry to have to say this — people who are turning to GNU/Linux in order to move away from Microsoft or Apple are doing so for the wrong reasons. It’s like the presidential elections in the USA — they never vote for a candidate, but against the other candidate. 
GNU/Linux is an operating system for people who are really interested in GNU/Linux, because it’s a very different design in comparison to Microsoft Windows. GNU/Linux is a UNIX system — as is macOS, but then again, macOS is probably the least UNIX-like of all UNIX systems; its filesystem isn’t even case-sensitive. And MS-Windows is just… DOS on steroids.

I’ve been a Linux user for nearly 15 years. I spent the majority of my time using Debian or Mint until I got brave and installed Arch. After running Arch on my old test computer I found Manjaro, tested it out and installed it on my daily driver and haven’t looked back. I just recently switched to the Testing branch to spice things up a bit.

Hi, Richard here from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Around 1995 I tinkered with Slackware and Red Hat. In June last year I bought a cheap Dell XPS 15" with 16 GiB RAM from 2017 to try Linux again (getting away from my Apple ecosystem) and installed Ubuntu KDE Plasma. After a few weeks and testing some other distro’s in UTM (virtual machine application for Mac) I decided to go for Manjaro KDE plasma and loving it. Easy install, user friendly and like the idea of rolling releases. I am also a volunteer at Linux020, a collective in Amsterdam that is helping people installing and maintaining Linux. Thanks to the Manjaro people for all the good work!

Good one everyone, I’m Cartillo, I’ve been using Manjaro since September 2025, I use the XFCE flavor because I used others distros with that DE.
I love how Manjaro team customize XFCE, I use Manjaro in a ThinkPad T460 and a Dell OptiPlex 3040. I use Manjaro in the unstable brach because I use AUR (But only use from AUR Stacer and use the chaotic aur repositories)
I love pamac, it’s really easy to install software from that.I use Manjaro only for basic things like check social media, YouTube, Netflix write documents on Google Docs and I use Firefox, some day I hope to get a new a better computer to play my favorite games in Manjaro KDE Plasma.
