Weird shutdown and error messages(following latest update)

Just to avoid you asking yourselves too much out of topic questions.

Also I had this issue very long time ago (I have Nvidia driver installed) but it’s been a long time since I do not have it, back then I tried to add the Nvidia modules to mkinitcpio but that didn’t help (you find as ‘solution’ on the internet to add them, or to remove them, both opposite actions), I had the shutdown hook in my mkinitcpio.conf file (but not anymore), I also reduced the stop timeout as a workaround, I’m not sure if I fixed it somehow at some point I can’t remember, but on my side I do not have this /oldroot blabla warning message (and hang for long time before shutdown) anymore.

I remember someone confirmed when uninstalling Nvidia drivers it was not doing it, so if you want to confirm it is because of Nvidia maybe try to use the open source driver for tests and try to see if it fixes it, then reinstall Nvidia drivers.

Also maybe all share your inxi -Fazy so maybe something relevant can be found in common. Here’s mine:

according to the thread posted by @Dragon20C it’s indeed the Nvidia drivers.
he tried to uninstall them and it fixed this message.
