Hi there,

I have been installed Manjaro 22 with Kernel 6.1 (currently 6.0) and my computer wakes up after suspend, and usually wakes up after shut down. I have read previous suspend topics and couldn’t find a n answer

please help

Welcome back to the forum :+1:

Please see same advice as:

I was already using Manjaro before (with same BIOS Settings).

I was using Manjaro 21, for almost 10 months on this laptop, and, 1.5 years on a different computer before this laptop. and I made a clean install, with the same BIOS settings I have. I will check the link, but I guess, this shouldnt be a BIOS issue

additional info:
suspend sometimes work normally, but usually, after a 4-5 hours of working on computer, and if some apps are open, suspend turns off directly.

for instance this is after a successfull suspend

journalctl -b -g suspend

As seen above, I have suspended at 01:27, and awoke system back at 01:31

It has todo with s2idle, see the threads you get from the link i gave…

Hi Again,

I updated the BIOS to the most recent, actually, I tought the immediate rewake disappeared for a while, but not it appeared back.

on journalctl, I receive these messages thousands of time:

As you see that is proof of it being a BIOS related issue, so keep reading more topics from that link with respect to your hardware + ACPI + kernel…

Note: s2idle is a software emulation of the sleep-mode that should be provided by your hardware to be actually functional…

I have an Nvidia Graphics Device - GeForce MX450 as seen upper. I thougt that this is related with that. And on

sudo nano /etc/default/grub

updated the GRUB_CMDLINE_DEFAULT and removed ibt=off and now that parameter is

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash apparmor=1 security=apparmor udev.log_priority=3 optimus-manager.startup=nvidia  nvidia_drm.modeset=1"

This time my computer may suspend  But the new problem is, it now wakes up with worse bugs. After wake up from suspend For approximately 5-7 minutes computer is lack of Network Connections, and I can not shut down / restart computer during this period.

After 5-7 minutes, I can shut down/reboot, but on a new Manjaro Black Screen the computer stucks & freezes.

Now after suspend my

 journalctl --boot 0 --unit NetworkManager.service --follow --no-hostname

I am still investigating what parameter to change to have a stable system, with sound, suspend, etc functions.

this advice shows the reason of the solution, my problem is 90% related with s2idle, but there is no solution there, or I couldn’t find if there is.

What I need is, a laptop that has a reliable “Suspend” mode after some time of inactivity, it can switch to “Suspend” mode, and then awakes after mouse/keyboard activity, or, it should be suspended manually, and be woken up.

I can even use Hibernation if that will be a “Working Suspend” mode.

What I have currently is

cat /sys/power/mem_sleep

→ response →

[s2idle]
cat /sys/power/state

→ response →

freeze mem disk

cat /etc/systemd/sleep.conf
→ response →

is there anyone, who knows what should I do? ( and also who can describe some ) can I change suspend mode from s2idle to hibernate? apparently there are some bugs with s2idle and I couldnt fix that bugs, and I am open to solutions to have a normal working laptop on suspend mode and awake back after suspend

Can you check your BIOS settings?

i just checked and “Block Sleep” is set to “Off”.

currently, after I disabled my Nvidia MX450 Graphics Adapter, as I mentioned here → Wake up Immediately After Suspend and Shut Down - #8 by komnataDeveloper

computer can suspend, but now the problem changed, and system features, Network Connection, etc is broken after wake up back from suspend for a while ( 8 minutes)
