Wacom DTU-1141 DisplayLink not working (X11/Plasma)

I tried following the Arch wiki article here with no success: DisplayLink - ArchWiki

I can’t get the displaylink to show up as a provider in xrandr

I’ve heard that displaylink isn’t compatible with the closed source nvidia driver, but swapping to the open source driver hasn’t seemed to help.

Presently the tablet input doesn’t work either, but I can’t tell if that’s a separate issue or not.

So, the workaround for the time being is to run a Wayland session when I need the tablet. I’m curious if this is something that works in XLibre though. I’d be interested in testing it if I knew how to swap out X11 for XLibre.

I’d also like to work out the kinks I have with Wayland. I did swap to the open source Nvidia driver, so maybe some of that will be better now? I haven’t figured out how to fix my Japanese input on Wayland yet though.
