Look how it’s built from the AUR and adapt the PKGBUILD file.

Git clone the branch 12.0

The guides from this site worked for me https://linuxize.com/post/how-to-deploy-odoo-12-on-ubuntu-18-04/

Why? 12 is from 2018. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Be aware that an older version may not build or run with newer dependencies and most likely will not be supported by upstream.

Yes, you can no matter what version you need by checking out the appropriate commit.

Businesses often use older versions. Same logic as using Ubuntu LTS. But installing 12.0 could be only worth for testing, comparison, development purposes etc. For example to install an addon module which is only available for 12.0 and try to upgrade it.

Installing Odoo on Arch or Manjaro is a bit tricky, because it uses older versions of python and postgresql.
Ubuntu is the way to go, see the guide I linked. (Debian and derivatives also work.)

FYI, both Debian & Ubuntu 18.04 are EOL (End Of Life) on April 30, 2023.

If needed there is Ubuntu Pro which extends the support to 10 years.
They made it free for peronal use.
