I want to install the default font from the MATE edition in the KDE edition

Hi, I’m looking for how can I install the default fonts from the MATE edition, they’re called “Sans regular”, I’ve tried to copy the font folder from the ISO to my disk and then regenerate the fontconfig cache but there is no “Sans regular”, I do have other fonts that contains the “Sans” name but all of them are “… Sans serif”.
And I haven’t found any “Sans regular” in the pamac repositories… tho I’m bad at searching :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks :wave:

“Sans regular” is certainly not full name. Sans mean fonts without serifs, regular is one of font weights.

Don’t do that. Note the font file and get the providing package:

$ pacman -Qo /path/to/font

Then install the same packge on your other edition.

Yeah i figured as much, but I didn’t know how to get the full name of the font…

What I ended doing was use this

to get all the fonts and unistall one by one 'till the font change, and it worked, the font is indeed DejaVu sans:

ttf-dejavu

tho in kde does not appear as “regular” so I’m using the “book” stile, and it looks almost the same, so thanks :smiley:
