VA-API init failed

Greetings, i had experience this (don’t ask for how much time i just recently noted it):

libva error: /usr/lib/dri/iHD_drv_video.so init failed
vainfo: VA-API version: 1.13 (libva 2.12.0)
vainfo: Driver version: Intel i965 driver for Intel(R) GM45 Express Chipset - 2.4.1
vainfo: Supported profile and entrypoints
VAProfileMPEG2Simple : VAEntrypointVLD
VAProfileMPEG2Main : VAEntrypointVLD

Don’t know how to fix it, everything is set by default since installation like 6 years now. If you need more information let me know.

Pls post the output of the following command:

inxi -Fazy --filter

Temporary Solution:

Write in Terminal: export LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=i965
Then in Terminal: vainfo
The Output must: vainfo
vainfo: VA-API version: 1.13 (libva 2.12.0)
vainfo: Driver version: Intel i965 driver for Intel(R) GM45 Express Chipset - 2.4.1
vainfo: Supported profile and entrypoints
VAProfileMPEG2Simple : VAEntrypointVLD
VAProfileMPEG2Main : VAEntrypointVLD

After reboot it will be as never were an export in the first place, i need definitive solution, help.

This ain’t a permanent solution, since will end when the terminal is closed (and so will hit the journal log again); should be exported, eg, in ~/.pam_environment to have it persistent (followed by a logout/login).

Can you guide me step by step please?.

In a Terminal window:

nano ~/.pam_environment

And type in:
LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=i965

Then ctrl+s to save the file.
