Blank monitor in 5 monitor, 2 nvidia gpu setup

Hi,

I’m running a set up with 5 monitors, and 2 nvidia gpus, (an rtx 3090 and a GT 1030). Four of the monitors are connected to the 3090, which work fine, but the fifth is connected to the 1030, which does not display anything once I reach the manjaro login screen. I’ve tried going to the manjaro display settings manager, and I’ve messed around with the Xorg configs to create a second xscreen, but nothing I’ve done so far seems to work. My guess is the 1030 is trying to offload to the 3090, but the 3090 only supports up to 4 displays.

Any help would be very useful. I’m comfortable with the terminal, but I’m pretty new to the linux desktop environment, especially when it comes to X11. I’ve spent many hours looking over docs and wiki’s, but nothing I’ve done has worked. All five monitors light up with the manjaro logo on boot, but once it gets to the login screen, the fifth monitor goes blank and shuts down.

Hi, are you using proprietary drivers?
Does trying the open-source drivers fix the other screen not working?

Have you managed to fix it? I’m on similar situation. 2nd card is recognized but still cannot add a second X screen. Not even using nvidia-settings exported config file

I have 2 seats (had 2 cards with 4 small monitors, now 2 cards with 2 4k-monitors). But i had to switch to noveau because the nvidia-driver did not work any more for me since kernel 4.19.

Now the configuration is very easy with noveau and xfce see:

With loginctl i now have no(null) configfiles for xorg. The cards are detected automatically and the monitors also. The only thing i have to do is to assign devices to seats. This is easily done with
loginctl seat-status ...
loginctl will the write udev-rules that persist
