USB Tethering (Internet connection sharing)

What is the situation with sharing an Internet connection via a USB cable? Debian boasts of being out-of-the-box, but this one doesn’t look very optimistic. :worried:

My personal experience is a hotspot beats tethering for connection speed. By quite a bit if you go 5Ghz WiFi.

Security? Power consumption? 5G with PP? I don’t think so.

the pinephone can’t even use 5GHZ it has only 2.4 GHZ
