After the most recent updates to Manjaro, USB file transfers from my phone to Linux are not showing the modified date. They used to before the update. What gives?
The modified timestamp is only valid if the filesystem hosting the file knows the file has been edited.
When you copy or move a file there is no change in content from source to destination and thus not eglible for setting a modifed timestamp even if the source is newer than destination.
